Surrounded by vineyards and oak trees in Stellenbosch the Slow Market is a revival of the public marketplace where you can buy food which is grown, raised harvested and transformed by our producers. Our market features over 100 specialty suppliers creating a weekly platform for local farmers, grocers, artisan bakers, organic merchants, fine food purveyors , butchers ,artisan crafts, local fashion , craft beers and estate wines.
We support micro businesses to grow and thrive in an alternative retail environment. Founded by medical doctor and entrepreneur in 2008 Gail Blake the market is part of a global Slow Food movement promoting foods which are clean, good and fair.
We host workshops in specialised fields like mushroom growing and chocolate making. A calendar of seasonal events, specialty festivals, and live music feature throughout the year. The ancient name Outeniqua means ‘the land where honey comes from’. This changed on 19 November 2011 when the Outeniqua Farmers’ Market opened, providing a new shopping destination that created a new heart for George. From that day onwards, Outeniqua is the land where honey, cheese, fish, chocolate, cakes, berries and other delicious foods comes from.
The Outeniqua Farmers’ Market is located opposite the Garden Route Mall on the N2. The five-hectare site is the home to more than 125 food and craft stalls offering produce and goods created by local farmers and skilled craft people. From berries to bread, fish to flowers, and everything in between, local residents and international visitors find carefully selected goods to suit the most discerning tastes, at consistently reasonable prices.

The aim of the Hazel Food Market is to bring residents of Pretoria fresh products straight from the producer at a convenient authentic food market.
