The Hout Bay Manor, built in 1871, is renowned as one of Cape Town’s most graceful landmarks. The beautifully restored Hout Bay Manor offers 19 individually designed en suite rooms and an elegantly casual restaurant named ‘Pure’.
Hout Bay Manor has preserved the history and heritage while infusing the interiors with Zulu and Xhosa chic décor to celebrate the vibrant pulse of South Africa.
On the ground level guests find an opulent open plan lounge and bar area, a tribute to style, Zulu and Xhosa grace. A designer marble bar offers all guests the opportunity to interact with fellow travelers or spend quiet time reading a great novel from the library
All 19 luxurious rooms offer safes, plasma screen satellite televisions, telephones and air conditioning as well as internet and wireless. The Hout Bay Manor offers four charming types of rooms: The Zulu rooms, the Xhosa rooms, the Sotho rooms and the Sangoma rooms.

Waterfront, which are just 30 minutes away.

Children occupying their own room will be charged the full room rate.
Children sharing with their parents in the same room (ages 3-13) will be accommodated on an extra bed at a non-commissionable rate of R500.00 per night.
Baby cots will be provided for children aged 0-3 free of charge.

We require full payment of the room rates at least 30 days prior to arrival. A proforma invoice will be sent on acceptance of an offer.
During peak season (15 December to 15 January) we require a 50% deposit 3 months prior and the balance 1 month prior to arrival.
50% of the accommodation is levied 30 to 15 days prior to arrival.
100% of the accommodation is levied 14 days prior to arrival.
We suggest that guests are covered by travel insurance in the event of an unforeseen cancellation.
Room Types & Descriptions
Each of our 19 distinctive rooms has been individually designed with beautifully appointed en-suite bathrooms, many with free-standing baths, wooden floors and bespoke decorative chandeliers.
‘The Sotho’, for instance, features double rooms with an exotic private garden terrace and a refreshing alfresco shower. Bask in the mountain views from upstairs in ‘The Xhosa’, beautifully crafted double rooms, or ‘The Zulu’, with its picturesque views of the exquisite gardens and sparkling pool.
‘The Sangoma’ offers the unique convenience of two utterly luxurious rooms, adjacent to each other, with free-standing baths and large balconies overlooking the tranquil pool and indigenous garden area. They also make the perfect family apartment complete with their own private entrance.

…started his professional career on the highlands of Scotland. Working at Loch Fyne, Inveraray Castle and St Andrews – home of golf, he returned to South Africa to further his studies at the Cape Peninsula School of Technology. After completion of his studies, he again traversed the United Kingdom from Middlesborough to York. Returning to St Andrews in Scotland. On his journey back to Africa he joined the ‘The Yachts of Seabourn” and finally found himself in Nigeria as part of the opening team for the 5* Federal Palace Hotel and Casino before joining us at Hout Bay Manor and Pure as Head Chef.
Self Drive Options
Take the N2 to Cape Town. Follow the signs to M3 Muizenberg (Kirstenbosch).
Follow the M3 past the University of Cape Town.
At the first traffic light turn right into Rhodes Drive following the signs to Kirstenbosch and Hout Bay.
Keep on Rhodes Drive going past Kirstenbosch and up Constantia Nek following the signs to Hout Bay.
At the bottom of Constantia Nek there is a traffic circle.
Continue straight into Main Road.
Once in Hout Bay Village you will pass a Shell Garage on your left.
Take the next turn left under the `Hout Bay Manor` archway.
The Hotel is 500m down the road on the left.
DIRECTIONS from Cape Town City Bowl (+/- 25 Minutes):
Take the Kloof Nek Road as if driving to the Table Mountain Cable car.
Continue straight along this road which leads down into Camps Bay.
At the Stop sign, turn left into Houghton Road which leads down to Victoria Road and directs one around the coast towards Hout Bay.
As you head over the hill into Hout Bay, turn left at the Traffic Light.
Go over the first traffic circle and turn right at the second circle.
From here, you will pass two petrol stations – the first a BP and the second a Shell Garage.
Turn left just after the traffic light at Shell Garage under the ‘Hout Bay Manor’ archway.
The Hotel is 500m down the road on the left.
